Engineering success during a recession
Environmental engineers once toiled in relative obscurity, but today their work encompasses areas that are very much in the public eye.
Today’s environmental engineers are very much involved with such concerns as waste management, wastewater, air pollution, toxic waste mitigation, environmental safety, carbon footprint, agricultural engineering, biology, chemistry, ecology and public health.
Despite the wide range of work, the environmental engineering sector continued to struggle throughout 2011 with the ramifications of the economic slowdown.
